My stay at Hotel Icon was a mix of positive experiences and a few letdowns. The decor is striking, showcasing a 1940s aesthetic that I loved. I appreciated the complimentary snacks and juice in the evenings, which were refreshing against Houston's humidity. However, I was disappointed by the lack of a pool and the outdated television in my room.

Rooms

The room was spacious and had beautiful, luxurious bathrooms. the shower was massive with great water pressure. However, I noticed some red stains on the wallpaper, which was concerning. While the bed was comfortable enough, it felt a bit old and springy.
Service
8.0
The staff was generally warm and helpful. though I had an issue with the alarm clock from a previous guest that woke me up too early, they quickly offered free breakfast to make up for it.
Location

The location is fantastic, making it easy to visit local bars and restaurants. It's also rich in historical elements, adding to the charm of my stay.
Dining

I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a large selection, though some items were cold by the time I arrived. The room service breakfast I ordered wasn't as good as I hoped, but the dining atmosphere was pleasant.
Facilities
7.0
They offer room service, a helpful shuttle service, and other amenities. but I did not find a pool, which was disappointing. Also, the valet parking was quite pricey.

I had an overall nice stay at Hotel Icon, but it wasn't without its hiccups. The setup and design details of the hotel were impressive, and the staff were quite friendly and accommodating. However, I encountered a few issues with room service and street noise that slightly marred my experience. The bathroom was definitely the highlight, being both spacious and luxurious.

Rooms
7.0
My room was spacious and nicely decorated, complete with a huge whirlpool tub that I loved. However, I noticed some wear and tear with the outdated features like an old TV. Overall, the room felt comfortable but could use some updates.
Service
8.0
The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Check-in was smooth thanks to Jahmel, and the valet service with Jairo was prompt and professional. However, I did have some frustrating experiences trying to order ice at night which could be improved.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location was excellent, with easy walking access to various bars and restaurants around downtown. Unfortunately, my room faced a lively nightclub, which meant noise was an issue well into the night.
Dining

I enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a nice variety. However, by the time I arrived, some items were a bit cold and not as fresh as I'd hoped. I also tried room service, but the food wasn't as satisfying as expected.
Facilities

The hotel offers great facilities including room service and valet parking. However, I think there are areas that need renovation to match the more glamorous areas of the hotel.

Hotel Icon is a beautiful hotel with a spacious and luxurious bathroom, as well as a convenient location near downtown Houston. However, I was disappointed by the high parking fees and some service inconsistencies. My room was comfortable, though the overall hotel decor felt dated compared to the photos.

Rooms

I loved the bathroom in my King Room; it was spacious and had amazing water pressure. The bed was also incredibly comfortable. However, the room size felt smaller than I had hoped, and the view was not the best since I was only on the third floor.
Service
6.0
Most staff members were polite and helpful, but I had a less than pleasant experience during check-in with a lady who treated me rudely. On the bright side, the staff made an effort to make up for an early morning disturbance by offering free breakfast.
Location
9.0
The location was fantastic! I appreciated being right near the Convention Center, which made it easy to explore downtown. There were plenty of dining options within walking distance, which was a nice bonus.
Dining
7.0
I found the breakfast buffet to be okay, but many items were cold by 9:30, which was disappointing. I also ordered room service; while it was satisfactory, it didn't wow me.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has various facilities, including room service and valet parking. However, I found the parking fees to be exorbitant at $52 per night, which overshadowed my experience.

My stay at Hotel Icon was nice. the blend of vintage charm and modern amenities was truly a treat. The lobby's classical decor welcomed me warmly, while the staff's friendliness made me feel right at home. However, the towels in my room were a bit too rough for my liking, and I experienced a delay with room service during a busy weekend. Overall, I'd rate my experience quite high, but there are a few areas for improvement.

My King Room was spacious with great skyline views. everything was very clean, but the room did have a slight old odor. The large jacuzzi was a fantastic touch, perfect for relaxing after a busy day.
Service

The staff was exceptionally sweet. Holly at the front desk was patient and helpful, and Jairo in valet went above and beyond to assist me with my car. However, I did have some trouble getting through to room service, which was disappointing.
Location

The hotel's location was fantastic. right in the heart of the city, I was just steps away from nightlife and attractions. However, I did notice it was close to a bar, and the noise from there was quite loud at night.
Dining

Dining was hit or miss. I enjoyed the breakfast, which featured diverse options, though my experience with the soup of the day was disappointing. The staff in the restaurant were attentive and friendly, helping to enhance my experience.
Facilities

The hotel offered great facilities, like a free shuttle service that was very convenient. I appreciated the valet service too, even though parking costs were a bit steep at $50 per day.

I had a lovely stay at Hotel Icon, with its gorgeous architecture and spacious suite on the 12th floor. While the staff, particularly Rita at the front desk, were friendly and helpful, I did experience some noise issues from the nearby nightclub and a bit of disconnect with the night staff regarding room service. Overall, the stay was enjoyable, especially with the fantastic breakfast buffet and proximity to theater performances.

Rooms

My suite was spacious and beautifully renovated, though the view was limited being on the 12th floor. The massive shower in the large bathroom was a highlight, but I did find some room furnishings to be a bit worn.
Service

The staff were generally wonderful, especially Rita, who was polite and accommodating. However, I faced some challenges getting ice delivered at night, which was frustrating.
Location

The hotel is perfectly situated in downtown Houston, close to bars, restaurants, and entertainment options. I enjoyed the short walk to the Wortham Center for our ballet performance, and the lively atmosphere was a bonus.
Dining

I was really impressed with the breakfast buffet, which offered a great variety of fresh and delicious options, overseen by attentive staff. However, I didn't dine at the hotel's restaurant beyond breakfast.

The gym was well-equipped, which I appreciated. However, valet parking was pricey at $52 per day, and I was a bit disappointed with the cleaning staff's timing as they tried to enter my room before checkout.
